FAQ

Airsoft questions, answered

What is GFA Airsoft?

GFA Airsoft (GentsFrame Airsoft) is an airsoft YouTube channel and website run by Niko, a player from Bulgaria. It publishes gameplay videos, gear unboxings and setups, loadout lists, beginner guides, an airsoft events calendar and a map of airsoft fields in Bulgaria.

What gear do I need to start playing airsoft?

At minimum: impact-rated eye protection (ANSI Z87.1 or equivalent), a lower-face mask, a replica (most beginners start with an electric AEG), quality seamless 6 mm BBs, a battery with a smart charger, and gloves. The budget airsoft loadout lists six affordable essentials to start with.

Is airsoft safe?

Yes – when everyone wears proper eye and face protection and follows the field rules. Fields enforce FPS (muzzle velocity) limits and minimum engagement distances, and players keep replicas unloaded and bagged outside the game zone. Read the airsoft eye protection guide before buying goggles.

Where can I play airsoft in Bulgaria?

There are active airsoft fields near Sofia (BoinoPole, OPS Center), Plovdiv (Tsar Asen and Airsoft Plovdiv Battlefield), Varna (Antifriz), Shumen and Veliki Preslav, Dobrich, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Tryavna and Nova Zagora – plus the Uzundzhovo airfield near Haskovo, home of the 24-hour Battle for Tartaria MilSim. The airsoft locations page shows all 33 fields on a map with gameplay videos and links to each community.

What is the difference between an AEG and an HPA airsoft gun?

An AEG (automatic electric gun) uses a battery-powered motor and gearbox to compress air for each shot. An HPA (high-pressure air) replica is fed compressed air from a tank through a regulator, which gives very consistent shots and easy tuning but needs a tank and a way to refill it. Niko runs an HPA Wolverine MTW.

How do I find airsoft events and game days?

Check the airsoft events calendar, which lists MilSim weekends and game days in Bulgaria with links to each organiser’s event page, and follow the local field communities linked on the locations page.
